Job description
What you will do in your working day
The role will include:
- Welding of structural components as well as other products that are manufactured in our steel workshop.
- Welding (ARC/MIG), must be proficient in positional welding
(horizontal, vertical, overhead) and setting machines for different weld processes - Read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Experience with general workshop machine tools, such as bandsaws, pillar drills and hydraulic presses
- Able to fabricate, fold, cut, measure and finish material to an accurate and high standard
The training you will be getting
● Level 2 Technical Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering
● Welder Qualification (Coding) (ISO 9606-1:2017) for chosen weld
type and positions taken for EPA. e.g 135 MAG, Plate, 6mm, PB
position and 141 TIG, Plate, 3mm, PB position.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Progression onto level 3 is desirable upon completion of level 2.
