About the Role
As Director of Platform at Civica, you will be a technology leader responsible for ensuring that our tools and technologies enable engineers to build software efficiently, safely, and of high quality. We’re on a journey of modernisation, and you’ll be working with teams using a mixture of legacy and modern approaches to technology and development.
You’ll own the strategic direction of our new internal developer platform, ensuring that we have the right people, processes and tools in place to deliver.
You’ll be a pragmatic, kind and effective leader, able to build and nurture a team that can deliver on your vision. You’ll bring clarity to your teams and to stakeholders in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
What you will be doing
As a leader, building and managing a balanced and effective platform organisation, working closely with peers and stakeholders in product, development, and infrastructure.
Using your expertise in modern development methodologies, platforms and processes to enable efficient, safe and high quality product development
As a strategist, owning the platform roadmap, and creating a clear path to deliver on the shared platform vision
Making data-driven decisions, and presenting data to secure buy-in and investment for your initiatives
Building strong relationships with leaders in areas such as product, security, engineering and compliance to ensure the best outcomes
Requirements
We’d like you to have experience with
Managing multiple platform teams in a large global organisation , across multiple territories and time zones (UK, India, APAC, and AMER)
Building platform teams from the ground up, and bringing product and development organisations on a modernisation journey
Managing teams supporting modern software development organisations; implementing platforms as a bespoke internal service
Delivering critical technical programmes in challenging technical landscapes
Working with leaders and engineers to create alignment across large tech organisations
Managing stakeholders up, down, and across seniority levels
Coaching and mentoring senior managers
