Job description
As our Depot Quality Supervisor, you will work closely with the Depot Manager and the Depot Team to ensure that our depot runs smoothly and that each one of our customers receive their appliance on time, every time. You will be a main point of contact for our Drivers and play a crucial part in, boosting the morale of our existing crews, alongside welcoming new drivers and promoting positive teamwork, all with an incredible support system to set you up for success. As the Depot Quality Supervisor, you will assist with the daily operations of the depot to ensure that they always run efficiently. You will be driven towards achieving high standards of quality and drive our performance through paying careful attention to the service we deliver. You will ensure all our vehicles are road worthy, legal and compliant with Transport legislation and provide on-going support to our Drivers to ensure deliveries are completed on time. You will work alongside our Quality and People teams to ensure that the depot and team are supported in delivering our values and reaching our targets. Our customer is at the heart of everything we do and through your support to the Depot Manager, your colleagues, and the Drivers, you will be a main part in making that happen.
Your Duties include:
• Support training for new starters to include Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety
• Ensure that all employees are complying with the training that they have received to provide a safe working environment for everyone
• Briefing team daily/weekly on key priorities and workload
• Supporting to Supervise the team and allocating tasks and priorities
• Complete alcohol testing when required
• Communicate with our Drivers, handling any queries efficiently and in a professional manner
• Liaise with our vehicle management unit, subcontractors and Drivers completing in-house reports to provide data required by the Regional Manager and Head Office on a daily basis.
• Deliver training to new and current Self-employed Delivery Drivers.
• Conduct recruitment sessions/presentations to potential Self-employed contractors.
• Understanding of transport legislation and logistics operation
• Able to build lasting, effective relationships with people around you even under pressure and in difficult situations
• Challenge any vehicle issues or damages with our Drivers
• Able to make decisions in the absence of the District Manager to drive performance and service.
• React quickly to information, and can find solutions to any issues independently
• Good communication skills both verbally and written
• Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel
• Have a passion for delivering the service we promise to customers.
• Able to lead, inspire and motivate others.
• Confident in a fair and consistent approach to people management.
