Salary: Grade G SCP 23 £32,076 – SCP 28 £36,648

Hours: 36 Hours per Week 

Base Location : Tame Street Depot

Closing Date : 15th March 2024

Based at Transport Services Tame Street, Stalybridge we have an opportunity available for an experienced and dedicated Contracts Manager/Purchasing Officer with Transport Stores and Parts experience.

The role is to support the Transport Services fleet maintenance operations in the management of its contracts such as fuel, tyres, oils and lubricants etc. Also, the day to day provision of an effective and efficient stores for the provision of vehicle parts, tools and equipment.

You need to be committed to providing an excellent standard of service and work well with change. 

You must:

• Have knowledge of procurement practices and procedures 

• Have Knowledge of fleet management operations

• Have experience in providing stores functions for a fleet maintenance workshops 

• Possess excellent I.T. skills

• Be self-motivated

• Be organised, flexible and enthusiastic

• Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, the public, and outside agencies, and have good persuasive and interpersonal skills

• Be able to prioritise and manage deadlines and organise work on your own initiative whilst working well within your immediate and wider team 

• Be flexible with your working hours to meet operational requirements

• Have a full driving licence as the post holder will be required to drive workshop vehicles

• Be happy working outside of a normal office environment. In our vehicle workshop, stores and compound areas
