Your new role, what's involved?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director with a strong background in civil engineering and site supervision, specifically in road, tunnel, highway, and bridge projects, to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with consultancies in the construction industry, leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for road, tunnel, highway, and bridge projects, overseeing all phases from planning to completion.
- Lead the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and project objectives.
- Manage project resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize project performance and deliverables.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of project teams, including engineers, designers, surveyors, and subcontractors, to ensure project success.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and other project partners, fostering collaboration and trust.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing issues and risks in a timely manner to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, standards, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project status, budget, schedule, and key performance indicators to senior management and stakeholders.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in project delivery processes, incorporating new technologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship within the project team, encouraging adherence to best practices and standards.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on road, tunnel, highway, and bridge projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices for road, tunnel, highway, and bridge projects.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in project delivery.
