Job Description
Post Title: Programme Leader
Responsible to: Operations Director and Directors
Role: The Programme Leader is responsible for the coherence, planning, delivery, monitoring, evaluation, and enhancement of programmes including the support of Lecturers and Tutors. The role should respond to the requirements and demands of the external environment and internal processes and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Provide effective leadership of the programmes, including consultation, decision making and communication with appropriate colleagues.
• Ensure high standards of student experience through effective programme delivery and management.
• Lead the design, development and delivery of content and materials for the programmes including curriculum reviews and enhancement, in a manner that supports and focuses on meeting customer, industry and awarding body standards.
• Participate in delivery of teaching sessions including online and face-to-face delivery.
• Lead on the development of the use of current and new technologies to develop the programmes and to enhance teaching and learning.
• Keep the Programme’s delivery performance under regular review, measuring against and working towards the TWC’s student satisfaction, retention, attainment, and progression targets as per the partner University requirements.
• Utilise a range of evidence, reports and feedback to integrate learning and teaching enhancements within the programme.
• Monitor the ongoing academic quality and KPIs of the programme and contribute to ongoing enhancement through reports.
• Lead a range of Lecturers and Tutors on the programmes including recruitment and induction of them, timetabling them, supporting with queries, reviewing and managing their performance and identifying training and development opportunities.
• Meet regularly with internal stakeholders and other members of the TWC and its partners to enhance the delivery of programmes.
• Keep up to date with awarding body specification changes and developments and contribute to current and future teaching and learning strategy to ensure that procedures take full advantage of pedagogical and technological advances.
• To monitor and implement feedback and development action points resulting from surveys and reports.
• Training of internal stakeholders and future team mates to ensure knowledge is being passed across to new and existing members of the TWC and partners.
• You will be expected to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of you and are reasonable in the context of the post.
General Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Be familiar with the Company Strategic Plan and ensure that all activity supports relevant parts of the strategic plan, and the appropriate Departmental Plans.
• Comply with all the company’s policies and procedures.
• Participate in the company’s performance management system.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company’s processes and procedures resulting in improved efficiencies within the business and improved service levels to the customer.
• Be a member of various teams as determined by the Directors of the Company.
• Evenings or weekends work may be required.
• Travel, domestically and internationally, as required to fulfil duties.
• Any other duties required by the company which are reasonable in the context of the post.

Person Specification Essential:
• Educated to Minimum Master or PhD level in a relevant subject area.
• Relevant educational or teaching qualification.
• Experience of designing, delivering, and managing educational or training programmes.
• Experience of working with qualification frameworks.
• Distance/Online learning teaching experience.
• Experience of the design and production of distance learning course materials and learning programmes.
• Experience of creating learning resources for VLE platforms.
• Knowledge of pedagogy and the use of educational technology.
• Attention to detail.
• Managing multiple projects effectively.
• Excellent presentation skills in both formal and informal situations.
• Excellent IT skills.
• Able to work under pressure, meet demanding targets and work to tight deadlines.
• A team player with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
Desirable:
• Qualified teacher status.
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum Pro-Rata
Contract: Permanent Half-Time Potential to be Full-Time within a year
