What you will do in your working day

The training you will be getting

In partnership with the University of Nottingham, the Electro-mechanical Engineer Degree.

Apprenticeship combines university on-campus teaching (delivered as weekly block release), fully funded by the VCA, and on-the-job training provided by our own engineers, where you will gain a wide range of experiences across various business areas. 

As an apprentice type approval engineer, you will join a team at the forefront of environmental and safety testing and will gain exposure to large global automotive brands and the latest technology. We will support you in gaining and maintaining expert technical knowledge across a wide range of automotive subjects. 

You will spend 20% of your contracted working hours dedicated to your apprenticeship and will be surrounded by a supportive network. You will be allocated a mentor and will have regular development conversations with your line manager to ensure your learning needs are met and you are on track to successfully complete your apprenticeship. 

There will be a clear progression path within the role. Alongside this, VCA supports engineers who wish to work towards gaining Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with the IMechE/IET and we actively promote this as recognition of your professional development.

Successful apprentices will be awarded both a Level 6 Electro-mechanical Engineer Apprenticeship Certificate and a BEng (Hons) Electro-mechanical Engineering degree.
