Senior CNC Operator Job ID: 32430 Leicester Nights Sun-Thur Perm Up to £36k per annum + premium rate overtime. Overview: An established manufacturing company specializing in precision components seeks an experienced Senior CNC Operator. This role demands expertise in Fanuc-controlled milling and turning operations, including multi-axis (up to 4 axis) machinery. This role is set in a modern, bright, and clean working environment with a range of machining capabilities. This facility is undergoing a significant investment period in new equipment alongside a growing order book. Responsibilities Operating CNC milling and turning machines, focusing on Fanuc controls and including up to 4-axis machinery. Proficiency in machine setups such as head/tip changes, axis resets, and jaw changes to ensure peak machining efficiency. Ability to offer basic troubleshooting support to junior operators, aiming to improve team productivity and machine functionality. Expertise in evaluating tool wear through visual inspections and human experience, determining optimal usage periods for different alloys. Utilisation of a broad spectrum of work-holding methods tailored to a wide range of part requirements. Execution of foundational dimensional checks and application of measurement tools like shadowgraphs and laser systems. Implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles in day-to-day operations. Capability to train and guide junior staff, fostering skill development and preparing the team for advancement. Key Skills and Qualifications: Extensive experience as a CNC Operator, with a focus on milling and turning operations on Fanuc-controlled machinery. Familiarity with multi-axis machining and adept at complex machine setups. Essential skills in machine adjustments such as head/tip changes, axis resets, and jaw changes. Solid troubleshooting skills and the capacity to assist junior operators. Knowledgeable in handling various alloys and proficient in visual tool wear assessment. Experience with diverse workholding methods for machining a variety of parts. Proficiency in dimensional checks and using shadowgraphs/laser measurement tools. Understanding of SPC processes. Excellent communication and training abilities, with potential for progression to setter/team leader roles.
