Job description
Our client, a leading company based in South Norfolk, is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a Financial Controller, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director.
Job Purpose: As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Group Finance Director in all reporting activities for the company, including budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts. You will also oversee internal control development and compliance, audit and tax management, treasury functions, and transactional accounting matters for all companies within the group.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a safety–first culture within the organisation.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the Divisional Finance Managers and Management Accountants in delivering accurate and timely financial management information.
- Ensure monthly results are delivered promptly with comprehensive financial performance analysis.
- Lead the implementation and further development of ERP platforms, focusing on process efficiency and internal control improvements.
- Manage internal and external audit processes, statutory accounts, and tax compliance.
- Mentor and develop team members through leadership, guidance, and training.
- Liaise with the Group on treasury matters and oversee UK accounts payable and credit control.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across various finance functions.
- Play a lead role in the development of finance systems.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills with a proactive attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non–financial managers.
- Experience with multi–company, multi–currency financial consolidations under IFRS.
- Exposure to UK PLC reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.

- Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE, ideally qualified in practice.
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller or in a PLC Group reporting role.
