ROLE OVERVIEW
Croud is a digital marketing agency with a unique business model , recently named a Sunday Times Best Place to Work 2023 .
This position is an integral part of our Contracts team, specialising in B2B commercial contracting for in-house operations . As a crucial member of a dynamic and fast-paced small team, the role involves direct engagement with client and supplier contracts .
Responsibilities include actively contributing to the development and upkeep of our playbook, as well as facilitating the enhancement of legal knowledge among internal stakeholders through training initiatives.
Please note Croud operates a hybrid working model with a minimum of 3 days a week based in our Shrewsbury office and the remaining days from home if you wish.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements. This will include clients, suppliers and other third parties
- Working with the contracts team to develop and manage inhouse playbooks and provide support tomanage and mitigate legal risks
- Working within the established operating framework as well as identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
- Providing accurate, relevant, and timely advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of legal topics that relate to the digital marketing industry
- Providing legal compliance assistance on key client contracts where legal approval or feedback is required
- Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company
- Communicating with any relevant third party bodies such as our external legal partners
- Designing and delivering legal training to the business
- Staying up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the business and ensuring this is shared with the team
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Qualified solicitor having specialised in a practice area such as commercial contracts, intellectual property, data protection (all three will be critical to the role)
- Sound understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law.
- Demonstrable experience of having worked in at least two commercial legal roles with similar responsibilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent negotiating and drafting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and process orientated
- Excellent prioritisation, speed of execution to a high level
- The ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- The ability to communicate both simple and complex legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues and clients can understand; understanding and adapting messaging to the audience
- The ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
- A hands on team player who thrives working as part of a team and is always ready to chip in and support where needed, whether administration, ideation, negotiating or process pieces
- Understanding the nuances of digital marketing, the requirements to get things over the line quickly but to maintain quality and consistency

Standard hours are from 9.00am to 5.30pm, there’s flexibility if agreed in advance with your line managers (it may also be necessary on occasions to work outside of these hours).
