The position of Head of Religious Studies offers an ambitious and dynamic specialist an exciting and highly rewarding leadership opportunity. The Department is busy and successful, and this role has scope to grow the offering in the school further. The successful applicant will be able to teach throughout the school, including Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level teaching. They will offer enthusiasm and a passion for their subject to lead and inspire our students. Candidates will also be expected to provide strong direction and an ambitious vision for the future of the Department.

As well as aiming to ensure academic success, the Department aims to develop students’ knowledge and skills across philosophical, ethical and theological topics. The Department will shortly be changing its name to Religion, Philosophy and Ethics (RPE) to reflect recent changes in the breadth of offering. At Key Stage 3, this includes units focusing on world religions, Eastern and Western Philosophy and Ethics. Skills focus on evaluation, analysis, debating, collaboration and producing independent projects.

Halliford School is an HMC Independent Day school in Surrey for boys aged 11 to 18, with a co-educational Sixth Form.
