Job description
The Business Development Manager will:
- Identifying and developing strategies and tactics for business development and sales focusing on both the established Heavy Industry players and new, emerging businesses in these dynamic segments (Mining, Rail, Construction).
- Making initial approaches, understanding, and capturing customer requirements, preparing and presenting proposals, negotiating contracts, and maintaining post sale customer relationships.
- Ability to produce proposals and analyse complex problems and business cases, sometimes working as part of a team and sometimes independently.
- Desk and customer driven market research and analysis to support the maintenance of current market strategy and prioritised prospect lists.
- Maintaining awareness of competitive landscape in the Heavy Industry Sector
- Forecasting and meeting revenue targets through the sales of products, technologies and services in the agreed target markets.
- Acting as a primary point of interaction with potential and current customers.
- Drafting, preparing and reaching agreement on commercial terms in association with the technical, legal, and/or finance departments.
- Providing regular reports of a qualitative and quantitative nature on the progress of commercial activities and documenting and maintaining a prioritised prospects list to support the Business Development strategy.
- Developing relationships with new clients; managing relationships with current or previous clients and expanding existing relationships to drive increased revenue.
- Defining and supporting the development of effective marketing collateral associated with the promotion and sale of products and services.
- Working with the rest of the business development team to incorporate customer demands into the company's product and services offerings.
- Assisting in ways to improve the overall Business Development performance.
- Contributing to key industry event attendance and always representing WAE Technologies professionally.
- Maintaining positive relationships with all other departments and following the company's health and safety policy.
- International and national travel to attend customer meetings and agreed events.
