Job Description Summary
GE - Renewable Energy would like to recruit a Grid Automation Project Manager to work from our Stafford facility on a hybrid basis. The Grid Automation PM will be responsible to plan, manage and deliver projects contractually from transfer through to Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) ensuring high levels of Customer satisfaction and maximum margin/value. The Project Manager is expected to deliver projects following financial and operational aspects like budget, technical & contractual scopes, resources & execution planning.
PM is expected to manage a portfolio of 4 to 6 active projects including CCS & DCS (Protection & Controls) Systems & Services + Loose Products running in parallel and representing an annual sales volume of 6-10 M$.
Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
- Follow project management best practices (as per Project Management Handbook and specific Product line instructions), including specific focus on transfer review, project gates reviews and project close-out.
- Contribute to unit’s operational performance by providing accurate forecasts on financial KPIs: Sales, Cash & Contribution Margin.
- Manage project execution from tender to end of warranty including FAT, delivery & commissioning.
- Be the prime customer contact for contract execution.
- Ensure commitments to customer are met in accordance with contract with clear feedback through consistent customer interaction, e.g. communication, (phone, e-mail, etc.) and customer meetings, periodic reviews etc.
- Execute Projects in collaboration with engineering, logistics, sourcing, procurement and finance functions.
- Monthly update on actions plan progress & Sales/cash forecasts.
- Preparation and presentation of project reviews.
- Maintain comprehensive documents & records of projects executed.
- Manage resource planning and workload of the team to ensure 90% and above billable ratio.
- Contribute to Operation department development & Unit continuous improvement.
- Lead EHS/Safety actions and performance: be fully compliant with GE rules and processes, ensure project teams (own and subcontracted) are properly trained and holders of required qualifications when required.
- Follow GE compliance Policies (‘The Spirit and The Letter’) and promote open reporting.
- Support Commercial teams by sharing ROEs leading to optimized costs project costs and delivery.
- Exhibit GE’s leadership behaviours while carrying out roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical / Electronic engineering.
- Experience in project management within T&D Industry.
- Capability to manage & motivate a project team of 3-6 people.
- Fluency in English language.
Desired Characteristics:
- Business / industry knowledge. Prior experience in T&D + Grid Automation activities will be an advantage.
- T&D and Automation (Protection & Controls) background will be a plus.
