Job description

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and innovative Head of Academic Music to join a vibrant and successful Music department in a thriving school. The successful candidate will have the vision to develop a dynamic and musical curriculum across Key Stage 3 to 5 and the ability to lead a team of academic staff in implementing this vision.

The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner, able to teach Music to a very high standard. They will inspiring a genuine interest in all facets the subject and will contribute with enthusiasm to the thriving co-curricular life of the department and school.

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative practitioner to make full use of their skills and experience in a highly successful department. It is a particularly exciting time to be joining the department as we look to design a GCSE-alternative course ready for teaching with a first cohort in September 2025. There are plentiful opportunities to work collaboratively with the other senior school music departments across the Foundation.
