We have a fabulous opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join a Band 5 rotation in Amber Valley!
This rotation offers the opportunity to experience a variety of clinical settings within DCHS including Integrated Community Teams- core and Rapid, community support beds, and Community Hospital wards. The successful candidates must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, have the ability to work on their own initiative, but also be an effective team worker. The post holders will be expected to work flexibly and this will include working weekends/bank holidays on a rotational basis. They will be expected to travel regularly throughout the locality of the team and therefore access to transport is essential. You will need to register if you do not already have an account Work as an Occupational Therapist on 9-monthly rotations throughout Amber Valley. You will need to effectively engage with your patients, peer groups, and service users in all elements of your role, leading by example and promoting a supportive and caring culture. To undertake comprehensive and accurate assessments of patients referred to the service, diagnose and formulate and deliver individual occupational therapy management and treatment programmes based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice, using investigative, analytical and clinical reasoning skills. To formulate patient led goals and recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive multi disciplinary intervention and discharge plans. To evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter rehabilitation programmes / goals as required, as part of the integrated, multidisciplinary team care delivery model. To contribute to the delivery of the Occupational Therapy service within the speciality, ensuring that patients referred receive a quality and responsive service. To provide advice, teaching and guidance to patients, relatives and carers, to promote understanding of the aims of occupational therapy and ensure a consistent approach to patient treatment. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for patients under your management, and to support more junior staff to do likewise To support and deputise for the band 6 Occupational Therapist as and when required To supervise more junior staff according to legal, departmental, Trust and College of Occupational Therapy standards To communicate timely and informative verbal and written reports and discharge summaries to other agencies, for example GPs, Consultants, other members of the ICT, the Treatment Centre and wider health community.
