Vendor management has become an integral and crucially important part of scientific data generation supporting our submissions to health authorities and helping bring medicines to patients. Vendor Partnership and Governance (VPG) unlock the value of vendor partnerships to achieve excellence in scientific data delivery.

As Vendor Category Expert (VCE) you will be responsible for the management of outsourced clinical activities and deliverables within the Full/ Multi Services and BD&L External Relationship Management Team (ERMT).

Location: Dublin, Hybrid or UK, remote

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for supplier governance, management and issue management/ escalation across global GCO and locally and cross-divisionally as required (e.g. Country, BR).
• Working within a matrix environment, the VCE is accountable for all operational aspects of one or more ERMTs.
• Function as a point of escalation for supplier issues which cannot be resolved at the individual Clinical Trial Teams (CTT) level.
• Provide expert knowledge, experience and understanding of service category(s) and suppliers to provide support to the operational management within the ERMT(s).
• Lead supplier due diligence activities with ERMT.
• Supplier Service expert for the assigned services within the ERMTs to drive value beyond cost from Novartis’ external supplier base.
• Supporting the implementation of the agreed outsourcing program strategies.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor degree in life science and/or bachelor degree in business ideally with 7 – 10 years’ experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent. Advance degree preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership with supplier relationship management and/or expert knowledge of specific service areas.
• Strong vendor management skills.
• Expert knowledge of clinical trial process and mapping to supplier requirements.
• Demonstrated partnering across divisions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent knowledge of GxP and ICH regulations.
• Demonstrated root cause analysis, problem solving, and solution generation skills.
• Leadership to deliver projects according to required and deliverables.
• Excellent influencing and communication skills
