Job description
An excellent opportunity has become available with one of our returning clients based in Aberdeen. Due to continuous project wins and steady growth, our client is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. As the Contracts Manager you will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Civil engineering industry. With this knowledge you will be the key point of contact for my client’s business and quickly become a valuable asset to a growing team.
Our client is paving the way in their specialist field and requires likeminded individuals who share the same core values as them. As the Contracts Manager you will contribute to our clients steady growth and ensure their reputation is maintained.
The key responsibilities include:
- Oversee work performance of staff, undertake staff appraisals where necessary
- Develop commercial opportunities of tender stage
- Produce and maintain progress reports on a monthly basis
- Ensure all compliance is inline with contractual obligations
- Allocate the relevant resources and manage workloads
- Create, build and maintain customer relationships
- Provide effective project programmes (short & long term)
- Monitor project performance, take corrective action where necessary
- Continuously review the Operational processes and strategies, improvements made where necessary
- Conduct project close out and report lessons learned
- Support the release of management reports
The relevant requirements needed:
- Previous experience within a similar role
- Strong civil engineering sector knowledge and business understanding
- At least 6 years experience within the civils industry
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Previous operational management experience
- Multi utility knowledge would be beneficial
- IT literate
- Excellent understand and awareness of contracting principles
