Job description
The role:
Contribute to the leadership of our client's firm and further enhance its reputation by nurturing the capabilities of the Transfer Pricing Department.
Responsibilities:
- Advising Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) across various sectors and government bodies on Transfer Pricing and Pillar Two matters within the GCC.
- Offering strategic advice on structuring, drafting tax opinions, engaging with tax authorities, and preparing ruling requests.
- Assessing the requirements for implementing transfer pricing structures, including FAR analysis and benchmarking.
- Assisting with transfer pricing compliance tasks such as local file preparation, master file documentation, and country-by-country reporting.
- Negotiating rulings with tax authorities and supporting transfer pricing audits, disputes, and voluntary disclosures.
- Providing guidance on Transfer Pricing aspects of M&A transactions, both pre and post-transaction. Reviewing ongoing and new business activities to advise on tax implications, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborating with the tax consulting team to devise effective tax planning strategies.
- Engaging with clients to foster and expand business relationships.
- Managing client relationships and delivering a comprehensive range of services, including cross-selling with other departments.
- Researching, analyzing, and interpreting tax legislation across the GCC and advising MNEs and government entities accordingly.
- Assisting with administrative litigation and serving as a liaison with tax authorities.
- Training the team to ensure alignment with legal requirements and best practices.
- Proactively staying updated on global developments in the international and regional tax landscape.
Skills and Attributes:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Tax Consultant in international tax, preferably in a top-tier international law firm or Big 4.
- Master’s degree in law, accounting, economics, or business, or equivalent work experience, with a distinguished academic record.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 and Apple software.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to creatively solve multidimensional problems.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with business and functional leaders.
- Strong leadership capabilities and adherence to the highest standards of integrity and business practices.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Proficiency in English, with Arabic language skills considered advantageous.
