Information for Apprenticeship Candidates
The EarlyYears Educator (L3) Apprenticeship is an ideal path for a caring and enthusiastic individual looking to begin a career in Early Years Education.
An Early Years Educator (EYE) is responsible for planning and providing effective care for children aged 0-5 in various early years settings and count towards the staff:child ratio. They implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) that enables children to prepare for Key Stage One and Two. The Early Years Educator (EYE) Apprentice position offers the opportunity to work and study at the same time to achieve a recognised Early Years qualification.
The Early Years Educator (EYE) Apprentice Role
The EYE Level 3 apprenticeship is a work-based programme which is completed over 16-18 months.
Apprenticeships are suitable for all ages, from school leavers to adults wishing to retrain or return to the workplace.
During the apprenticeship you will be working in our Early Years classes (Nursery & Reception) to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting while studying for your qualification through off-the-Job training.
You will have an average of 6 hours per week (2 afternoons) release time from class to complete assignments and other course requirements.
On successful completion, you will be awarded the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship, the NCFE Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE), and the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid OR Level 3 Award Emergency Paediatric First Aid.
There is no cost to the individual apprentice for the qualification - the cost of training is met in full through the apprenticeship levy.
The contract is a fixed term contract for the length of the course with the possibility of a permanent contract on your successful completion of the apprenticeship.
If you have any questions about the apprenticeship route, please contact Ms Ann Johnstone, School Business Manager.
