UK Student Recruitment Officer

Oxford Brookes University

Location

Headington, Oxfordshire | United Kingdom

Job description

Oxford Brookes University is looking to recruit two experienced, reliable and highly motivated Student Recruitment Officers. Each officer will travel frequently across their own dedicated region (one of London or the Midlands), attracting prospective students to the career-defining opportunities available to them at Oxford Brookes.

As one of the largest employers in Oxford, we pride ourselves in the great experience we offer our staff. You’ll be joining a friendly, professional environment where every member of staff is recognised as important to the success of Oxford Brookes University.

Overall Purpose of the post of UK Student Recruitment Officer:
UK Student Recruitment Officers contribute to the delivery of the University’s recruitment strategy by developing external relationships with a regionally-arranged portfolio of target schools and colleges and other agencies, and supporting the delivery of on-campus recruitment events and activities. A willingness and ability to work flexibly and travel widely are fundamental to this position - we would welcome applications from London, Midlands and Oxfordshire areas.

We are looking for two Student Recruitment Officers to take responsibility for the management of student recruitment activity in a designated region of southern England. Ideally, you will be based in a region, to be assigned upon successful interview, or otherwise be based near Oxford and travel to your region as required.

We have two UK Student Recruitment Officer roles available, initially focussing on recruitment from the following regions:

● London
● Midlands

Qualifications and Experience for the post of UK Student Recruitment Officer:
We want to hear from candidates who have experience of advising prospective students, delivering impactful presentations and workshops, and who enjoy working in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Your knowledge of successful sales/recruitment practices will attract and convert a diverse cohort. You will develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, both at Oxford Brookes, and in businesses, schools, and colleges across the region. Through these relationships you will empower current and past students, academic colleagues, and other professionals to showcase our portfolio of courses and ensure learners in your region choose Oxford Brookes as their higher education institution of choice.

At Oxford Brookes, inclusivity is one of our five guiding principles: we take positive steps to create an environment in which we celebrate, value and provide equal opportunity to all. We are committed to recruiting from the widest possible pool and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates who embrace our values, regardless of their background. As a Disability Confident Employer we guarantee to interview any disabled applicant who meets the essential selection criteria.

Flexible working:
We support a work-life balance for all staff, including career breaks, job sharing, flexible hours, etc. The team is based in our recently refurbished offices on our Headington Campus, joining other colleagues who work approximately two days a week in the office and the remainder at home. The agile workspace is designed to offer various styles of working, such as collaborative spaces, hybrid meeting spaces, individual workstations and a more relaxed setting of comfy sofas.

Benefits:
As a UK Student Recruitment Officer you will also enjoy the benefits of working at Oxford Brookes University with up to 38 days holiday, rising to 41 days holiday (this includes 13 Bank Holidays and Concessionary Days), a generous Local Government pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and access to a variety of university facilities (NHS Dentist, Brookes Nursery, Gym and sports facilities). For more information about benefits please see the document “All about Brookes” and the “Candidate pack’.

We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job, but we realise the 'perfect candidate' doesn't exist. So, if you are looking to join a leading modern institution with ambition for student recruitment growth we’d love to hear from you.

Application Process:
As part of the application process all applicants are required to complete our online application form by clicking on the “Apply for Job” button below. All parts of the application form should be completed and in the section of the form called “Supporting Documents”, applicants must upload their CV and a Personal Statement. To complete the Personal Statement part of the application, applicants must download the Personal Statement document which is part of the advert below and complete the form, providing examples and explaining how they meet each item detailed on the document. The Personal Statement must then be uploaded to the application form along with the CV.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.

Interviews will take place the week commencing 25th March 2024.

Please note that a successful and satisfactory background check will be required through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) after the interview and before the post is confirmed.
