Job description
The reception post is the first point of contact for patients, clinicians, and visitors to the department. The Radiology service requires a professional, polite, and confident individual who can demonstrate confidentiality at all times. Responsibilities include liaising with clinical staff regarding patient arrival times and safety information, and receiving enquiries by various methods of media, including telephone, email and an internal intercom system. The candidate must ensure all reception tasks are completed accurately using the electronic computer system CRIS. Attending patients in real time for their appointments and record and escalate queries comprehensively to the administration and clinical staff. In addition, responsible for various administration tasks to include follow up communication with patients that have failed to attend appointments, courtesy calls and monitoring the waiting room to ensure patients are accommodated in a timely manner. Essential qualities required are a team player, flexible approach and the ability to work proactively - at times using ones own initiative. The candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with customer care experience. Radiology is a busy patient centred department and this position will work as part of an administration and clerical team, with good peer group support and appropriate training provided as necessary. Experience of working with hospital software is advantageous. Please note that this post is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
