Job description
We are seeking to recruit a full time/part time, BCPS Front of House staff for Pathology Services based at either Walsall Manor Hospital or Dudley Russell's Hall Hospital. The candidate will be an efficient and flexible member of the Reception area team providing a high quality diagnostic service through supporting the scientific and technical activities of the laboratory.
Welcoming and attending to the needs of staff and visitors to the department, telephone answering and other administration duties. There will also be the tracking and handover of Pathology samples for courier drivers taking them to a hub laboratory. There will also be some handling and allocation of Pathology consumables.
The general hours of work will be 37.5 per week which will be worked Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. There will be some later shifts of 12:00 noon to 8:00pm included, and some weekend working of 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Some part time working might be considered although a flexible approach is required due to the need for the extended working day.
The post is based at Sandwell Hospital although the successful candidate could potentially be asked to work cross site within BCPS, with the Hub site based at Wolverhampton and ESL laboratories on site at Walsall Manor, Russells Hall Hospital Dudley and City Hospitals.
The role will be general reception duties as well as supporting the Specimen Reception department in receipt, sorting, organisation and data entry for pathological specimens submitted to the Department for investigation.
