CGL Manchester is an integrated drug and alcohol service providing a range of interventions and treatment options for people experiencing problems with substance use, regardless of substance or age. We are looking for a passionate and committed individual to join our team as a Recovery Coordinator who will facilitate seamless transition for people referred to us from our local hospitals. You will p ractice a preventative harm reduction, educational approach and will use psychosocial interventions to support service users to achieve their goals, identifying the most appropriate treatment pathways and p romoting engagement.

 

The postholder will work across CGL sites and hospitals in central Manchester. You will be committed to taking a positive and holistic approach to your work with a focus on promoting current provision to engage people with the interventions and treatment options available.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly within an agreed number of hours and across operational sites including hospitals as required to maintain the most appropriate level of service provision.

You will be expected to take responsibility for your own learning and development and fully engage with training, supervision, and appraisal requirements as per CGL policies.

 

Where: Various sites in Manchester city centre

Hours: 37.5h per week

Salary: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 Pro Rata (CGL Scale 23-28) Depending on Experience

About the role:  

 

• Work within a hospital environment to engage, assess and support Service Users who have drug and/or alcohol treatment needs
• Provide follow-up treatment and/or interventions at various healthcare sites
• Work in partnership with a range of agencies to provide support around unmet need
• Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral  

• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community  
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement  
• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services  
• Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination  

 

About you:  

 

• Have a str ong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field  
• Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills  
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills  

• Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice  
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders  
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users  
• Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards  
• Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
