This key vacancy has arisen and we are looking for a transformational leader to undertake this role, who will have delegated authority for Infection Prevention Control and a direct line of communication to the Executive Team through the HAI Executive Lead to whom they are directly accountable.
As a member of the Executive Nurse Director Team you will provide strong strategic and clinical leadership in infection prevention and control throughout NHS Ayrshire & Arran and will deliver the corporate accountabilities of the NHS Board, Chief Executive and Executive Nurse Director.
You will lead and oversee NHS Ayrshire & Arran's compliance with and contribution to local, regional and national developments in healthcare associated infection policy and guidelines.
You will function as an expert resource providing clinical leadership, expert practice, and advanced knowledge, integrating research evidence into practice and leading on research in their clinical field, building on the body of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) knowledge in this specialist area.
We are looking for candidates of considerable personal and professional stature who demonstrate highly tuned emotional intelligence, with strong credentials as clinical leaders and a proven track record of delivering clinical and service change and improvements. Candidates must have a professional registration (NMC, GMC or HCPC), a relevant Masters-level degree and specialist training to Doctorate level or equivalent experience.
