In this role, you will shape data-driven intelligence and action within NHS Blood and Transplant, developing data literacy, capability, and career paths throughout the organisation, and bringing siloed data together, and transforming and linking them to bring new, timely insights to inform improvements across NHSBT. This will benefit our staff as well as our blood, tissue, stem cell and organ donors and patients, and their families.
You will collaborate closely with the Programme Director, SRO, the Data Transformation Programme Board and the wider Data Transformation Team. You will have a proven track record in managing end-to-end projects, leading, and effectively communicating with leadership to drive strategic agendas. You will have an innovative, problem-solving approach. Experience, understanding and interest in data initiatives will be advantageous. You will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and, by being part of a passionate, enthusiastic, supportive, and high performing team, you will contribute to life-saving work. Note: This is a Hybrid working role. Main duties of the job Responsibilities In this role you will be responsible for delivery of large-scale change Programmes within NHSBT, the first of which is the 5-year Data Transformation Programme. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership support to Programme Director and guide programme development.
- Assuring project and programme products, monitor milestones, budgets, and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain realistic programme delivery plans, reporting to SRO and Programme Board. The SRO is normally an NHSBT Executive Director
- Manage stakeholder communications, including SRO, Business Leads, and Delivery Leads.
- Lead project managers to ensure successful project delivery and compliance.
- Communicate service-related information to decision makers and project teams.
- Develop and manage partnerships with external suppliers.
- Contributing to the enhancement of NHSBT project management tools and methods.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
About You Experience and Knowledge - Experience in strategic planning to align programme objectives with short, medium, and long-term business strategies.
- Extensive experience in developing quality business cases and managing business requirements and benefits realization with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience leading diverse groups through large-scale transformation programs from start to finish, motivating specialists across teams to achieve program success.
- Experience of supplier, resource and budget management including progress
- Extensive experience of working with a variety of project methodologies, tools and standards for whole life cycle and in programme management.
- Knowledge and experience of applying best practice in issues, risks and dependency management, including escalation.
- Extensive expertise in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and specialized proficiency in Microsoft Project.
Qualifications And Training - Educated to a Master’s degree Level or experience equivalent to Masters level
- Recognised qualifications in project and programme management methodology such as PRINCE2 and MSP (Managing Successful Programmes).
- Possession of ITIL Foundation certificate
- Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
