Job Title: Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher - Leatherhead Area
Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher to join our vibrant team at a specialised school in the Leatherhead area. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to inclusive education, a passion for supporting students with diverse needs, and the ability to create an enriching and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualised Instruction: Tailor teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of students with varying abilities, ensuring that each student can access the curriculum and make progress.
Collaborative Planning: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Adaptation of Resources: Modify and create instructional materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment.
Behavioural Support: Implement positive behaviour support strategies and interventions to promote a positive and supportive atmosphere within the classroom.
Parental Engagement: Establish effective communication channels with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and collaborating on strategies to support learning at home.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Specialisation or experience in Special Education Needs and Disabilities.
Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Experience working in a SEND school or similar setting is advantageous.
