Job description
The Financial Controller within the organization will play a pivotal role in achieving the company's goals of expanding the market footprint, pioneering the technology solution space in the sector, and ensuring that growth is profitable, generates cash, and is self-reliant.
This individual will be responsible for a comprehensive suite of accounting tasks, financial stewardship, and reporting functions while ensuring adherence to regulatory and legislative standards and striving to uphold and reach the highest standards of best practice at all times.
Responsibilities
- Manage and enhance finance & accounting systems and processes
- Ensure transaction processing and account reconciliation
- Generate management information, including performance data and reports
- Fulfill statutory reporting requirements and prepare financial statements in collaboration with external accountants
- Oversee daily tax compliance, including PAYE, VAT, and Corporation Tax with advisors
- Handle day-to-day cash management as directed by the CEO
- Direct the development of budgets and financial forecasts
- Partner with colleagues to boost business performance and achieve strategic objectives
- Supervise the Accounts Assistant position
- Communicate with external advisors like accountants, bankers, lawyers, and insurers
- Supervise the review and upkeep of Salesforce finance processes
- Participate in advisory for financial aspects of company's products
- Cultivate commercial awareness and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Advance ongoing learning and address training needs for better business efficacy
- Keep abreast of technological advancements in business accounting and management
- Maintain industry knowledge relevant to the care sector
- Champion privacy by design principles within the company's products
- Manage routine billing reviews (monthly and quarterly)
- Perform additional duties as necessary
Experience
- Possess a professional accountancy qualification(ACCA/ICAEW)
- Have 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within an SME; SaaS background is a plus
- Demonstrate strong commercial insight alongside technical accounting proficiency
- Have strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail
- (Optional) Have experience with Salesforce and Xero software systems
