Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in mental health?

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5/6 Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client in Ormskirk, Lancashire. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering part-time and full-time hours per week in a locum role with the placement due to end on 29.02.24.

The postholder will be providing cover in the community mental health team, based in a hospital but will be carrying out community-based work including home visits. As a Band 5/6 Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing holistic care and support to individuals in their homes and communities. You will work closely with clients living with mental health conditions, helping them enhance their daily living skills, regain independence, and improve their quality of life. It is essential applying therapists area car drivers in order to be considered for this role.

Duties will include:

• Care-coordinating
• Attending MDT meetings
• Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
• Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
• Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
• Working with other healthcare professionals

The Successful Candidate should be/have:

• A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
• They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
• An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
