Job description

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. The people we support tell us they want “good support from kind and friendly people” – so that is what we are looking for!

This position will be part of the Choices team in Brighton and Hove. The service currently supports 3 people with complex needs, learning disabilities and autism who require 24/7 support. The people currently live in central Hove and the organisation intends to grow this part of the service.

A brief outline of the role:

We are looking for a female who is experienced in social care to manage a staff team of support workers with support from the Service Manager, they will need to supervise, coach and put in strategies of support for the team. They will need to be flexible in their approach to support the team when needed and confident in supporting people who may be challenged, also knowing Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is desirable. The person must build good relationships with families, carers and outside agencies. We work towards Grace Eyre’s Charter trying to ensure people are living fulfilled lives in their communities. The role will also be ensuring the quality of the service in line with BHCC and CQC regulations.
