Job Title: Senior Lead Pharmacist Grade: 8a to 8b DOE Job Type: Permanent Ward/Dept: Pharmacy Location: Wycombe (other sites in Buckinghamshire may be required) Hours: 37.5 hours per week (plus Weekends, Emergency Duty Commitment, Extended hours services and Statutory holiday duties on rota with other pharmacists) We have exciting opportunities for an experienced Senior Lead Pharmacist (band 8a 8b) working with one of our well known client trusts in the home counties. To be successful in applying for this role you will need: Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Post-graduate diploma/MSc in clinically based pharmacy or recognised equivalent Extensive experience of hospital pharmacy at Post Registration Pharmacist level Delivery of pharmacy services to a range of specialities Delivery of a pharmacy service to a specialist service Experience of training of other pharmacy staff Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development Experience in education and training of others including pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals Responsibilities for this role include: Strategically develop, manage and deliver the ICB formulary. Coordinate trust input into a ICB formulary. Develop and update key medicines management policies (Trust wide and those which impact across the ICP/ ICB). Ensure effective functioning of the Trust Medicines Value Group (as Professional Secretary) and contribute / coordinate trust input into the BOB ICB Area Prescribing Committee (APC). Oversee, support and monitor the entry onto the Trust formulary of NICE, NHSE and key professional guidance within statutory timeframes. Evaluate efficacy, safety and cost impact of new medicines. Develop, review and update formulary related clinical guidelines and shared care protocol. Line manages the MRC Digital Transformation Technician. Lead, direct and support staff under management within the MRC team. Provide support to the day-to-day Medicines Information / Advisory Service in response to queries received by the MRC. Support pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based information and advice regarding medicines. Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that high cost medicines comply with NICE guidance and are managed within commissioning intentions. Work with Pharmacy, Finance, commissioners and external stakeholders to develop and implement processes to ensure that high cost medicine income into the Trust is maximised. Collaborate with, develop, and support the MRC Digital Transformation Technician to ensure formulary updates are implemented in appropriate timeframes. Act as lead for Immunoglobulin use within the Trust, collaborating with the Thames Valley IVIG panel and ensuring MDSAS entries are maintained within required timeframes. Provide a Clinical Pharmacy service to wards and departments on rota as needed.
