Design Engineer- Responsibilities Include:
- Adhere to ISO 9001 standards in relation to product design, project work, and order processing.
- Utilise and maximise the capabilities of the company's 3D CAD systems (NX, Inventor, and AutoCAD software).
- Follow design for manufacture and assembly protocols, creating 3D part models, assemblies, and detailed 2D component and assembly drawings according to current standards.
- Provide calculations for performance and safety considerations, including FEA and FMEA
- Manage new product development, existing products, and individual projects, overseeing aspects such as assemblies for quotations, investigating work, producing precise layouts, improving existing components, and optimising part design.
- Engage in the company's Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) processes to develop cost-effective solutions and designs.
- Produce detailed material specifications, product IOM manuals, and other technical reports and documentation as required.
- Produce and amend Bills of Material.
- Identify improvement opportunities and actively participate in continuous improvement activities, including team-based kaizen events.
- Develop working relationships with colleagues within the company that are productive in terms of supporting and delivering your work and that of the overall organisation.
- Identify and undertake activities to develop knowledge, skills, and understanding where gaps have been identified.
Design Engineer- Knowledge, Skills and Experience Desired:
- Possess proven mechanical design expertise in a 3D CAD environment
- Prior experience using FEA software in applications is desirable.
- Preferred engineering experience in the field of rotating machinery.
- Capable of working flexibly to meet demanding deadlines and targets.
- A collaborative team player with a positive outlook and attitude.
Schedule- Monday-Friday 42.5 Hours
