Type – Permanent, full-time, 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis (to include weekends)
Salary – £22,880 pa plus Service charge tips (and pay review due April 2024)
Location – Careys Manor & SenSpa is an award-winning four-star country house hotel and spa situated in Brockenhurst – the heart of the New Forest National Park, in Hampshire. Situated 5 minutes’ walk from Brockenhurst Village and train station with excellent rail links to Bournemouth, Southampton and London. We are now seeking an exceptionally polite and courteous hotel porter to join our friendly Front of House team. You will provide a warm welcome alongside the reception team to ensure our guests experience a seamless check-in/check-out service. You will be expected to provide professional and informative guidance for guests visiting the hotel, with the aim of always exceeding customer expectations.
Main responsibilities:
Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner ensuring luggage is delivered to rooms promptly
Park guest cars and inform them of the parked location
Ensure all left luggage is stored in the luggage room, is correctly labelled and the room is kept tidy and locked at all times
Maintain awareness of arrivals and scheduled functions/events
Assist in the set-up of conference rooms
Provide a support service to bar staff in provision of beverages to guests and conferences
Have knowledge of hotel facilities and correctly communicate these to guests
Have knowledge of local attractions and assist guests as required
Deal with requests in an efficient and courteous manner
Ensure a high standard of personal presentation ensuring uniform is clean and tidy at all times
Maintain an excellent level of customer service at all times
Follow Health & Safety and company procedures and guidelines
Act in accordance with the Hotel’s fire plan

Take pride in their high standards of personal presentation & hygiene
Have experience working in a professional customer service environment
Have a real passion for customer service and a focus on the guest experience
Have excellent knowledge of the local area and attractions in order that you can provide guests with appropriate information and recommendations
Understand and promote our facilities, upselling where possible
Be flexible and committed to working in a team environment
Demonstrate ability to adapt to changing situations
Have a good understanding of the English language
Be familiar with Health & Safety and Fire Safety legislation
Be familiar with Opera/Fidelio booking system (not essential)
