Job description
Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Project Officer for our client a local government based in Exeter.
The successful candidate will be mainly dealing with minor planning applications, householders and lawful development certificates.
This is a 4 month contract with the possibility for extensions.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Manage the delivery of minor development projects from inception to completion.
- Provide advice and guidance to customers seeking to undertake minor development projects.
- Undertake site visits and attend site meetings in order to evaluate development projects and discuss development options with customers.
- Liaise with Building Control and other officers of the organisation to ensure that minor development projects can be delivered.
- Process the regulatory applications that are necessary to deliver minor development projects.
- Calculate the Community Infrastructure Levy for qualifying projects.
- Manage appeals (including those relating to enforcement matters) from receipt to decision dealt with under either the Written Representations Procedure or via Informal Hearing.
- Investigate complaints regarding unauthorised development and undertake enforcement action as appropriate.
- Attend committee meetings, other meetings with elected members and meetings with resident’s groups and neighbourhood forums as required.
- Respond to general planning and property related enquiries on site, in person at the Civic Centre or via letter, e-mail or telephone.
- Assist in the identification of appropriate sites for specific development enquiries and work alongside more senior officers in bringing these sites forward for development.
- Assist in the production of written policy formulated to deliver good development.
- Assist more senior case officers in the management of more complex development projects from inception to completion.
- Assist colleagues in facilitating neighbourhood planning, preparing and monitoring the SHLAA and delivering the organisation's Infrastructure Delivery Plan as required.
Personal Requirements: - Experience in a similar role.
- Experience using UNIFORM database.
- Experience dealing with minor planning applications.
- Experience dealing with lawful development certificates.
Working Hours: 20hr week day post, with flexible working, but site visits will be required. (At least once every 4 weeks). Pay: £28.00 p/h Please note this role is within the scope of IR35. Key Words: Planning, Project, Infrastructure, Development #J-18808-Ljbffr
