We have a fantastic opportunity for a Associate Director to join Whybrow, part of the Beresfords Group, and undertake work throughout Essex.

Whybrow is looking to grow the commercial agency side of the business, being established in 1985, the company boasts significant experience within its current directorship and holds a prestigious client database, solidifying its reputable standing in the commercial sector.

Now part of the Beresfords’ property group, Whybrow operates across various property domains, including residential agency, commercial ventures, lettings, financial services, professional survey work, new builds, and land development. This integration presents an exceptional opportunity to leverage the group's extensive database of 130,000 contacts.

The ideal candidate should be eager to join at the associate director level, collaborating with the current Head of Commercial Agency, who is transitioning towards a consultancy role prior to retirement. Additionally, the candidate should possess the ambition to expand the division and recruit more commercial agents as Whybrow extends its presence across Essex. With 17 Beresfords’ offices, 4 Whybrow locations in Essex, and a team of 250 staff members, this role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual seeking progression to a full directorship and potential board level in their career trajectory.

Candidates of exceptional calibre will also have the ability to move into a more senior position immediately, contingent upon their experience, reputation, and past achievements.

Duties (including but not limited to):

• Valuing/targeting commercial properties across all sectors or specialising in one particular field depending on experience.
• Preparing commercial property listings and marketing.
• Working closely with clients to understand their needs and source commercial property to meet their requirements.
• Facilitating negotiations on contractual agreements and leases.
• Working with the client and corporate database of Whybrow and the Beresfords Group to build further opportunities and instructions to meet client’s requirements.
• Undertaking viewings and negotiations.
• Attending with the other directors networking or social events to again highlight and profile the skillset of Whybrow and to build further opportunities for business to build and develop our pipeline of development, investment and commercial agency business.
• To build and establish a strong working relationship with current director of commercial agency and board directors to grow into senior director for commercial agency .

Requirements:

Essential:

• You must have experience with the commercial, profession and property sector, preferably within the Essex area.
• Full UK driving license.
• Highly organised and able to work under pressure, and to deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, with a positive and professional outlook.
• Having the ability to work with the directors and the Whybrows team, supported by the greater Beresford Group in helping to mentor future team members to grow the commercial division across Essex.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in the commercial property sector would be important.
• Chartered Surveying, RICS qualified, although not a requirement, could be advantageous to the role.

Location 

Our main Whybrow office is based in Colchester; however, we are looking to expand the team outside of the Colchester area across Essex.

Hours of Work

Full time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
