Headteacher

North Bridge House Nursery & Pre-Preparatory Schools

Location

Hampstead, Greater London | United Kingdom

Job description

Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we are a growing community of 100+ schools in 16 countries - in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East - serving more than 85,000 students. Each of our schools are proudly unique, however our collective purpose is to create an environment where everyone can, ‘Thrive in a rapidly evolving world’.

We are seeking to recruit an inspirational leader and custodian for students, colleagues and parents as the Headteacher of North Bridge House Nursery & Pre-Preparatory School, Hampstead.

North Bridge House is a group of six independent day schools for boys and girls aged 2 to 18 years. Families can benefit from the option of a stress-free all-through education or choose individually tailored preparation for the next stage of their child’s school career. Our Nursery & Pre-Prep campus is where children start their North Bridge journey. They are located in two separate Victorian villas, moments around the corner from one another, and provide a natural transition from preschool to Reception (4+).

We are looking for an experienced Headteacher who is passionate about driving high standards and is uncompromising in their pursuit of high expectations. You will provide inspirational leadership coupled with strong management and communication skills, whilst being commercially astute, keeping the school moving forward in a competitive and rapidly changing London market.

Please see the attached candidate brief for more information.

How to apply

Applicants must submit a completed Cognita application form and a covering letter addressed to Mr Brendan Pavey, Executive Headteacher addressing the criteria outlined in this Candidate Brief and accompanying person specification. The letter should be no more than two sides of A4. A current CV can also be added but it cannot replace the completed application form.

All applications should be submitted to our Recruitment Specialist Kamini Chouhan by email, [email protected] and must be received by 5.00pm - Wednesday 13th March 2024.

The new Head will be expected to take up the post ideally, September 2024.

Cognita Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and Cognita Schools is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
