STRATEGIC EVIDENCE MANAGER
Salary : Circa £44,000 per annum
Reports to: Senior Strategic Evidence Manager
Department: Policy, Information and Communications
Location: Stratford w/ high-flex (1 - 2 days per week in the office). We are open to further discussions regarding flexibility for the successful candidate.

We have an exciting opportunity for two Strategic Evidence Managers to join our team. We need you to review, interpret and communicate relevant cancer-related evidence to ensure that our work to influence policy and practice for patient benefit is evidence based and impact led.
What will I be doing?
- Developing a sound, rounded knowledge of the research evidence (peer reviewed, grey literature) and other data and insight relevant to early detection & diagnosis, access to cancer treatments and cancer innovations
- Consolidating research, data and insight through the preparation of evidence briefs and other evidence-based content
- Supporting the development and periodic review of the Directorate strategy to ensure our activities are directed to the areas and audiences where our impact could be greatest
- Developing and maintaining relationships with researchers and others to develop a forward looking understanding and to inform robust horizon scanning of future interventions that improve patient outcomes
- Proactively highlighting evidence gaps, and working with others, including Strategic leads and colleagues in the Evidence and Implementation department, to influence for their fulfilment
- Contributing to developing, reviewing and signing off of evidence-based content including providing steer, content and sign off to policy positions and responses (England and devolved nations)
- Contributing to, and leading as required, strategies and approaches to evidence collation and management
- Coaching and mentoring other members of the Evidence Team, and working with the Senior Strategic Evidence Manager and Head of Strategic Evidence, to delegate work to other team members.
What skills are you looking for?
- Strong evidence searching, reviewing and critical appraisal skills
- Excellent ability to explain and quickly distil complex information, drawing out the key points and making clear recommendations
- Ability to write concise, engaging reports, briefings and other content for a range of audiences
- Relevant experience of working in the science, health or policy sectors
- Substantial experience of building effective working relationships with colleagues, researchers and other stakeholders
- Experience of providing specialist advice and guidance to team members and internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of leading and managing complex projects, with a flexible approach to respond to changing priorities
- Excellent problem solving, and proactive, can-do attitude with a commitment to high quality performance and delivery
- Demonstrated excellent listening, communicating and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience demonstrating tact, diplomacy and professionalism in all aspects of work enabling you to act as a respected ambassador for the team and charity.
