Senior Finance Officer (Business Partnering)

A vacancy has arisen in the Finance Business Partnering team for a Senior Finance Officer to provide finance support to the Council and Senior Management Team.
Reporting to our Finance Managers, your role will be to support Adult & Children’s Social Care.
Key deliverables and responsibilities for the roles are:
- Supporting the Business Partnering team in revenue budget setting, monitoring and year end processes.
- Providing technical expert advice to budget holders and officers to support decision-making.
- Analytical ability to present financial information clearly and a curiosity to get into the detail beyond just financials in understanding the service in depth.
- Pro-actively seek opportunities to improve the financial support the service provides to the Council.
- Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders for key information.
Experience
Essential:
- Experience of computerised financial systems and Excel
- Experience of financial (budget) and non-financial (workforce) reporting and analysis.
- An understanding of financial management and financial accounting principles.
- Understanding of the financial impact of decisions.
Desirable:
- To be suitable for the role a full or part CCAB or CIMA accountancy qualification is required.
- Experience working within the finance department of a public sector organisation.
