Description
As an Electoral Services Assistant (Gr D), you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of electoral processes. Working closely with the Electoral Services team, you will assist in the planning and delivery of a range of electoral events and activities. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work well under pressure will ensure the successful execution of electoral functions. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about democracy and has a keen interest in supporting the electoral process.
Responsibilities
Assist in the administration and operation of electoral events, including candidate nominations, voter registrations, and ballot preparations.
Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders by answering queries and providing information related to electoral processes and procedures.
Carry out data entry and maintenance tasks, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all electoral records.
Support the preparation of materials for meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including producing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing relevant documents.
Conduct quality assurance checks on electoral systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
Assist in the recruitment and training of temporary staff to support electoral activities, ensuring that they are well-informed and capable of fulfilling their roles effectively.
Support the Electoral Services team in the coordination of election day activities, such as setting up polling stations, managing voter queues, and ensuring compliance with electoral regulations.
Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Prior experience in an administrative role, preferably within a government or electoral services environment.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data entry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Familiarity with electoral legislation, policies, and procedures would be an advantage.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £14.39
