Job Title: Account Handler
Division: UK London Market Commercial
Location: London & Home Based
Salary: to £50,000
Job Purpose:
To undertake all aspects in the placing and maintenance of risks negotiation within the Commercial Team, relative to personal experience and ability.
Responsibilities
To negotiate satisfactory renewal of the Commercial account thus ensuring that the agreed renewal retention rate is exceeded (quantified by policy count)
To ensure a professional and expedient level of service is maintained to support all matters pertaining to the Division
To follow Group Best Practices
General tasks:
Request relevant additional information required by underwriters from agents to enable them to consider requests further and vice versa
Ensure adequate contact is maintained with sub-agents and underwriters during any of the processes in order to finalise matters
To promptly convey instructions and premium to underwriters
Issue other relevant Total Objects integrated documents to accompany compliant cover debit note
Update MI/Statistics using Total Objects as necessary
Advise brokers of acceptance/refusal of cover and provide written confirmation of terms as necessary
Ensure responses are promptly requested and received from underwriters where necessary and that agent informed accordingly
Liaising with Commercial broking team, agent and underwriters in order to resolve issues
Ensure that all documentation is saved to Total Objects
Ensure that paper files are correct and in order prior to filing
Assist with accurate updating of files and issue of slips as required
Maintain own diary system in line with Divisional/Group Best Practices
Investigate and resolve accounts queries as requested
Calculation of accurate renewal premium quotations
Provide written Contract Certain renewal terms and alternative quotations to sub-agents
Analyse claims experience and terms where necessary
Creation of in-house checklist as required
Logging of quotes as required
At the first opportunity, inform Commercial Director of risks which are likely to lapse and advise the reasons why
Any other duties as directed in connection with the smooth running of the UK Risks Solutions Division
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:
Prior experience handling large complex liability and non-standard property risks
Ability to confidently converse with colleagues, sub-agents and underwriters, written and verbally
Good admin and computer skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
