As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our farm management across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Farm Manager to join our team, based at our Swale Farm, Thirsk


As a Farm Manager, you’ll be working 07:30-16:00     6 days per week – Monday to Sunday 


What will you be doing as a Farm Manager at Avara?


As a Farm Manager, you’ll work closely with the farm management team, taking control of day-to-day farm management. Holding the responsibility for the wellbeing and performance of the flock extending to the overall upkeep and appearance of the site as a whole. 


What will your key responsibilities as a Farm Manager include? 

•Taking control of bird health and welfare at all times.
•To check and weigh stock on a weekly basis. 
•Ensuring all paperwork is in place and “audit ready”.
•Monitoring and maintaining temperatures, feed, bedding, fuel, and water on the site. 
•Manage the farm maintenance programs requesting repairs and upkeep. 
•Leading, motivating and helping to develop farm personnel. 


What you’ll need to be successful: 


Own transport is essential 
•Previous experience of managing livestock
•Good knowledge of bio security and bird welfare standards
•The ability to build strong working relationships with site and team colleagues. 
•A flexible working approach and self-motivation.
•Excellent numeracy and communication skills.
