Job description
Kinetic Recruitment are looking to recruit a Planner-Buyer with immediate starts to work for a busy Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company based in Runcorn.
Monday - Friday 9-5
Hybrid working -Hybrid one day per week off site (week 3 onwards)
£ 19.33 per hour
12 months temp - perm basis for right candidate. To begin ASAP

Key Responsibilities:
The Planner-Buyer is a critical role in the Site Supply Chain team responsible for material control on the site
- To be accountable for the planning, ordering and control of incoming materials (e.g. raw materials, packaging), in line with best practice material management and procurement principles to ensure optimized service, order cost, material flows and inventories;
- To drive inventory reduction / optimisation initiatives for all incoming materials in line with agreed targets for the site;
- To be the first point of contact on the site for all incoming material and supplier related issues;
- To ensure compliance in the operational ordering process vs local and global procedures and processes;
- To feedback and collaborate with procurement personnel and suppliers to improve supplier relationships and supplier performance;
- To monitor and maintain accuracy of all supply critical data fields in ERP system.
- To raise POs, approval, control and follow-up (including launches and switches);
- To review and analyse Material Requirements Plan (MRP) and release purchase order requisitions or adjust purchase order deliveries as needed to meet the production schedule over the appropriate planning horizon;
- To manage all MRP exception messages to ensure they are acted upon in an appropriate and timely manner;
- To communicate material constraints to production planning and escalate to regional procurement as required if issues cannot be resolved;
- To provide a rolling forecast including POs and planned orders to suppliers;
- To work closely with Procurement personnel to maintain material planning and supplier master data in the ERP system;
- On demand/ad hoc collaboration with procurement (e.g. provide business intelligence, forecast requirements, participate in supplier meetings to optimise supply chain collaboration and information flow);
- To support Global procurement in defining and measuring KPIs for Supplier Relationship
- To manage and control inventory policy / stock levels (e.g.: define safety stock, set inventory targets and KPIs, manage adherence to inventory targets, report monthly on inventory levels);
- To support the budgeting process of business partners;
- Ongoing coordination with related functions such as quality, transportation and service functions (e.g. artwork management, regulatory changes on packaging materials, QA/QC, inbound logistics, warehouse operations);
- To coordinate time-lines and version use for raw/packaging materials to ensure regulatory compliance;
- To work with receiving personnel to coordinate in-bound material shipments and with QA/QC personnel to ensure timely release of materials to meet production schedules;
- To prepare papers for goods returns as soon as agreed with the supplier;
- To support logistic arrangements in cases of claims and returns;
- To provide adhoc, daily/weekly/monthly reports in word, excel or powerpoint to present accomplishments and/or escalate challenges; * To champion continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate BA/BS degree in a related discipline;
- Must have previous experience of working within planning or procurement with knowledge of planning, procurement and control along the supply chain and their systems;
- Previous experience of managing an ERP / MRP system (SAP APO preferred);
- Previous experience of working in the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry;
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills;
- Good communicator, self-starter and team player with ability to set and deliver high performance standards for self and team members;
- Highly numerate and strong ability to assimilate information from different sources to generate achievable plans.
