Scotty’s Little Soldiers are a UK national Charity which provides support for bereaved military children and young people aged 0-25. They currently support over 600 children and young people and have a long-term goal of supporting over 1,000 by 2030. They deliver 4 family programmes; SMILES, SUPPORT, STRIDES and SPRINGBOARD, which provides a range of emotional and education support for bereaved military families.
The role will have accountability for ensuring the charity is delivering an efficient and effective service to its beneficiaries.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for best determining how to achieve the below, but key responsibilities will include:
- Working as part of the charity’s Senior Leadership Team to develop an aligned strategy for the charity
- Help the Families team to establish individual Success Measures (KPIs) and Team OKRs
- Enhance existing referral pathways and relationships with the MOD and military charities as well as establish new referral pathways with civilian organisations
- Publish the most comprehensive research to date on the needs of bereaved British Forces children and young people and use this research to define the future of our service delivery
- Establish a proven service based delivery framework with evidence-based programmes with demonstrable impact captured and communicated digitally.
- Understanding what the desired outcomes are, ensuring that all activities within the Family Programmes are aligned to those outcomes and developing a road map of future activities to support unmet needs.
- Demonstrating and communicating the impact of our work
Person specification
- Experience of developing successful, evidence – based, delivery programmes or frameworks
- Technological understanding – implementing the tools to match the framework
- Previous experience of developing and implementing impact reporting processes
- Leadership and/or coaching experience
- Although not essential it would be nice if you were experienced in working within organisations supporting young people and had a connection to the military community. However, if you haven’t, please don’t let this put you off applying!
Scotty’s are currently implementing the switch to a remote-first workplace. This role is advertised as a remote one, but will require a minimum of 6 days to be spent in East Anglia for team building days, strategy sessions etc.
