Job Purpose:
We have created an exciting new role for an engineer focusing on integrating our direct to device payload with our Mobile Network Operators (MNO) customers.
The role will encompass the definition and implementation of plans tailored to the requirements of each MNO. Entailing: aircraft and ground system operation, payload configuration, end customer system interfacing, and integration with the maintenance system (under development). Once designed, testing and verification will be required both in UK and on site at the customer’s premise.
This role will act very much as an ambassador for the engineering team responding to and resolving customer concerns to deliver an end to end working system.
Responsibilities:
Define and develop the requirements for integrating Aalto’s direct to device payload to the customer’s infrastructure. In many cases this will be at the radio level but could also be to the customer’s EPC
Develop and run test plans to prove the integration to the satisfaction of the customer.
Liaise with key suppliers involved with the integration.
Prepare plans and estimates for each engagement.
Lead technical discussions with customers.
Feedback lesson learnt with a view to improving efficient and shortening cycle times.
Ensure timely and accurate maintenance and ownership of applicable records as may be required by the business, customers or regulators.
Define, monitor and implement KPI’s for system availability to meet customer demands.
Experience and Qualifications:
Previous experience of integrating eNode or similar radio equipment in an MNO environment or comparable industry.
Extensive experience of working in service delivery technology function with concrete deliverables as examples.
Confident developing complex technical architectures, design patterns and frameworks.
Ability to manage complex technical challenges with multiple interfaces.
Experience of technical problem solving.
Confident with radio frequency and EPC design patterns and 3GPP/ETSI 4g standards.
Ability to deliver on time, on quality and on cost.
Project management experience is desirable to ensure timescales and KPI’s are met.
Able to collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders (senior management, customers, regulators, engineers, flight and ground crew) to ensure project delivery is achieved.
