The Role

Inspiring and enthusiastic member of staff required to deliver inspiring lessons across A Level PE/Sport; NCFE Sport to Level 2 and 3 and NCFE Uniformed Services at Level 3. We are looking for a full-time member of staff with dynamism and passion for their subject to start in the new academic year.  With a friendly, supportive team, and exceptional College facilities, this is an exciting time to join our growing College. 

Applications from ECTs and Teachers in Schools and Sixth Form College sectors are welcome. A full mentoring programme is arranged to introduce all new staff to sixth form college systems and procedures and to support and encourage professional development. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the team, and inspire our students. We expect high performance from all our staff and candidates should demonstrate their ability and suitability to both the role and the culture of the College.

The Department

The PE/Sport is a successful department delivering A level and Vocational qualifications to over 200 students. Exam results are very good with a 100% pass rate in both A Level and BTEC subjects.

Facilities are excellent with a large modern sports hall and purpose-built gym, a 3G pitch and sports pavilion was added in 2020 and there are well equipped classrooms and I.T facilities.

The department offers a wide range of competitive sports teams including men’s and women’s football, basketball, netball, rugby and badminton, Teams compete in regular sports fixtures supported by weekly training sessions. The department also delivers dedicated training programmes for elite sports students who compete at a county and national level. The College is affiliated to AoC Sport giving teams and individuals the opportunity to compete at both regional and national levels.

The department has strong links with higher educational establishments and local sports companies and students are given the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals to support their studies.

Students are actively encouraged to extend their learning outside the classroom and the department organises a range of extracurricular activities including guest speakers, educational visits and lunchtime talks and lectures.

Salary: £32,895 to £48,355 pa, depending on experience (including fringe allowance). These figures include the recently announced 6.5% pay increase.
