These posts are an excellent opportunity to progress your career and are suitable for any new or experienced Occupational Therapists. Cheshire East Council is moving to a bespoke and supportive Occupational Therapy Service in both the South and East of the Council, with assistance from dedicated Occupational Therapy Managers. We would like to encourage you to come and join us and help develop this new innovative service. Within Cheshire East we offer supportive and friendly Teams with flexibility at the heart of what we do, so can offer full time or part time posts depending upon your needs. We provide a good level of training and encouragement around Professional Practice and CPD and there are opportunities for development. Our service works closely with Community Therapists with whom we have developed strong partnerships to improve client outcomes for the residents of Cheshire East. Additionally, this also provides a wide range of learning and training opportunities and joint working across traditional boundaries.
You will be trained if required to undertake specialized assessments and interventions for both adults and paediatric clients who present with physical, learning, or mental health needs that impact on their ability to manage within their home environment. You will be supported to identify if there is potential for improvement, through joint working with other community therapists, and have support to recognise the use of any aids, equipment and/or adaptations and Assistive Technology devices. You will be trained if required to respond to the long-term needs of service users who require major adaptations to their home environment, and supported to identify functional needs and the impact of the built environment to enable you to develop solutions to meet clients’ needs and maintain independence and safety.

Grade 9 SCP 28-31 £36,648 - £39,186
Applicants that are not yet HCPC registered but will become so in the next few months will also be considered. This will be paid at the highest rate of grade 7 SCP 23 until you become registered and then you will move to the next grade as agreed with your manager. Grade 7 SCP 18-23 £29,269 - £32,076
What we are looking for:
The post holders will be based at one of the sites across Cheshire East to be decided but there may be a necessity to travel to other bases in Macclesfield, Crewe, Wilmslow and Congleton. Cheshire East Council operates a ‘flexible and mobile’ working policy.
