Job Description Summary:
Administer and coordinate the development of Aerospace technical publications, related data and technical services support. The project is about the conversion of the maintenance documentation from iSPec2200 to S1000D standard. The manuals include but not limited to:
• Component Maintenance manuals
• Fault Isolation Manuals
• Illustrated Parts Catalogues
• Illustrated Tools and Equipment Catalogues
The inputs will be Engineering Drawings, Bill of materials (BOMs), legacy manuals in pdf, native file formats for text files and graphics, change drivers etc.
The software used are 4D Concept ADAM Workbench, Adobe Acrobat Professional, ArborText, IsoDraw.
Job Description:
Delivery:
1.Coordinate with customer focal to gather inputs.
2.Download the required inputs, prepare the work packages for offshore execution. 3.Ensure that the pdf manual and the native files (XML/SGML) are of same version/revision.
4.Coordinate with customer focal for creation of Common Information Repositories. 5.Generate IPD DMs from customer tool.
6.Validate DMRL for the document conversions.
7.Coordinate with offshore team to clarify any queries and pass new learnings. 8.Requesting additional information if required, from engineering (Query management).
9.Research and review engineering design drawings, engineering orders, and related technical data that include:
• Studying the supplied inputs
• Requesting additional information if required, from engineering (Query management).
• Scheduling planning, task allocation & Progress tracking
• Final Review of the Documents for formatting correctness presentation
• Check for parsing of the xml files by validating with BREX DMs
• Final Review of the Documents for Technical correctness and language checks
• Integration of the DMs into customer CSDB and publish to required format 10.Preparing checklists as per the project requirements to validate and verify the quality documents.
11.Ensure that all quality metrics are within the agreed parameters.
12.Errors discussion, mentoring, record new learnings, prepare skill gap analysis. 13.Key focus on customer concerns, escalations, productivity improvement, lean techniques and organization objectives.
14.Work closely with program manager and onsite/offshore project manager with respect to schedule management, project updates metrics and to standardize process, exchange new learnings, knowledge sharing.
15.Attend regular team meetings for project monitoring and control.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
1.Equivalent and related experience may be substituted.
2.Four years or more experience on technical publications involving aircraft systems/components related assignments as a Technical Author/Illustrator/reviewer. 3.Good knowledge of technical publications development practices, business environment, the S1000D & iSPec2200 standards and technical manuals such as CMM, IPC, etc.
4.Should have good team coordination and communication skills in French and English
5.Well versed with S1000D Suite, Arbortext, Isodraw, ATA iSpec 2200, ASD-STE 100.
6.Experienced working on Common Source Data Base (CSDB) set-up, working on various authoring tools like XML, Arbortext, etc
