Please see full Job Description Attached JOB PURPOSE The Management Accountant plays a critical role in achieving financial excellence within HPL. Key responsibilities include, BUT not limited: Supporting the Finance Manager to enhance financial performance, financial risk rating, and contribution margin. Delivering high-quality management accounting and business partnering services to HPL & Royal Surrey. Providing timely, accurate financial information to clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Assisting budget managers with financial information and recommendations for action. Equipping budget managers with tools and data to manage budgets and enhance financial performance. KEY RESULT AREAS/MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Management Accountant's core responsibilities include: Business Planning & Forecasting: Assisting in the production of integrated financial and business plans. Contributing to annual budget setting and financial planning. Identifying cost pressures, service developments, and cost improvements. Maintaining financial ledger and budget system reconciliations. Accounting and Financial Reporting: Producing monthly budget statements and reports. Providing information for internal and external purposes. Ensuring financial documentation is accurate and updated. Managing accruals,pre-payments & adjustments. Productivity & Efficiency: Supporting Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) planning and reporting. Identifying opportunities, risks, and efficiencies. Developing a customer-focused management accounting service. Financial Training & Advice: Meeting regularly with budget holders and senior managers. Providing financial advice to non financial managers. Offering training on financial and business activities. Clinical Engagement: Collaborating with clinicians to support clinical pathways. Reviewing benchmarking and HRG information. Business Cases and New Developments: Supporting the development of Business Cases. Providing costing information for activity and services. Income Maximisation: Maintaining the income register. Raising sales invoice requests. Financial Responsibilities: Ensuring compliance with financial procedures. Reviewing aged debt/creditor information. Workforce Planning & Reporting: Analysing pay expenses. Aligning establishments with financial plans. Development and Training: Addressing competency gaps with training. Other: Representing Finance on projects. Performing other tasks as required.
