Our client focuses on the “Living Space” sector in the US & UK and they have a stable of Platform companies operating with great success in this space. The success of the business stems in part from having at the centre a small central team of industry and sector experts, who have worked closely together over many years. This small core team blends experience from real estate, capital markets, M&A, fund management and from operations and industry.
They are now seeking a Senior Analyst with strong Financial Modelling skills to be join their London team.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst will predominantly work across existing platforms but there will be potential to get involved in new ventures from time to time assisting with the incubation of new platforms from inception as start-ups to fully fledged institutional-backed platforms on both continents.
They are seeking someone who is extremely confident with Excel modelling, not just single asset but corporate modelling so the role could suit someone from an Investment, Portfolio, Corporate Finance/M&A or FP&A background. Private equity modelling has many practical applications and the team use these models to assess a business's viability, helping them identify the key risks of a potential investment. They can also evaluate the impact of different management decisions and estimate potential returns for investors.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing analyses to assist in making investment, capital, and sale decisions
- Analysis the impact of material market events on the financial performance of the portfolios
- Collaborating with team on liabilities performance and strategy
- Developing budgets and presenting asset valuations
- Managing monthly and quarterly valuation and reporting process
- Assist in the co-ordination and review of quarterly reporting and valuations from external valuers
- Assist the management team in annual/monthly IRR forecasts, cash flow analysis, hold/sell analysis
- Develop and maintain complex financial models (DCF & Reforecast) and fund reporting templates in Excel
- Model platforms for NPV, IRR, Senior/ Mezz financing, debt covenant, promote/ distributions calculations
- Assist with the production and review of ad-hoc analysis reports including letting reports and arrears reports
- Identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes and advancing technology initiatives
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE - Proven experience [c3 years] of experience working in real estate private equity / principal investments, corporate finance or investment banking
- Advanced analytic capabilities including creating, calculating and interpreting complex financial models - DCF, NPV, IRR etc
- Proficiency in investment concepts and property-related financial modelling
- Good commercial awareness with broad market knowledge
- Ability to draw conclusions from research and data analysis and communicate them effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Undergraduate degree from a top tier institution
- Other professional qualifications such as a CFA would be an advantage
- Extensive working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small / tight and growing team
