Sustainability Manager

Allen & York Ltd

Location

Doncaster, South Yorkshire | United Kingdom

Job description

Allen & York are excited to be partnering with one of the main UK rail freight logistics companies as they look to recruit a Sustainability Manager to join their business and help them achieve their strategic goal of Net Zero. This newly created role will report to the Head of Strategy, Policy & Communications and you'll be responsible for developing and implementing the sustainability strategy in line with industry guidelines.

Your experience of having managed an ESG strategy previously will be required so you can hit the ground running and work independently and you'll be adept at coming up with ideas and solutions around implementing sustainability initiatives within the business and measuring their effectiveness. This will include running training sessions to demystify sustainability and working with teams internally to embed carbon reduction and climate change initiatives.

You'll be able to demonstrate where you've helped other companies to achieve certain KPI's and goals through a combination of monitoring and reporting. Given this is a collaborative role, you'll possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and you'll have experience of compiling sustainability reports. It's expected you'll hold a relevant degree in an environmental discipline and have experience working in the sector in a similar role.

Based in the north of England, to the east of Sheffield, you will work on a hybrid model and will be required to travel on occasion to operational sites (a full driving licence is required) so you can appreciate what needs to be done from a sustainability perspective and to identify any challenges around implementing, but also opportunities.

So, if you feel you're suited to this role and you'd like to find out more, please contact Katie on [email protected].

About us: Allen & York have been matching purposeful people with purpose-led organisations for 30 years. Let's help build a better world, together. #J-18808-Ljbffr
