People Apprentice - 18 month Fixed Term Contract

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our People Team as an Apprentice. Working predominantly within our People Service Desk team, handling day to day queries such as absence, employee support and policy guidance, you will also take part in activities across the wider function, such as Wellbeing, ED&I, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, Emerging Talent and Compensation & Benefits.

As an Apprentice, you will take part in the Level 3 HR support CIPD qualification, which takes 18-24 months to complete. Your studies will take part online, giving you flexibility in where you take part in your studies. You will attend online seminars, workshops, and training in order to complete your qualification, and will have both an online tutor to support, alongside a dedicated Line Manager who will guide you through your course.

The role will give you real-life experience in a well-ran HR/People environment. You will undertake many activities as part of your role.
Once you’ve completed your Apprenticeship, the types of roles you would look to go into are as a People/HR Administrator, Recruitment Administrator or similar. You could also consider studying towards another Apprenticeship, to continue to learn and earn. Our Apprentices form part of our longer-term resourcing strategy and go on to succeed within their roles. We support individuals through their CIPD qualification, pending satisfactory work performance.
You will gain an annual salary increase, subject to performance both in the workplace and your studies. 

Role Requirements

We are committed to train and support you as you enter your Apprenticeship, but there are a few things that we need you to consider:

• It’s desirable for you to have 5 GCSE’s, including Maths, English and Science, but if you don’t hold this level of qualification, you will be supported through a Level 2 Maths & English Qualification. 
• You will study whilst you learn, meaning you will need to ensure your studies are completed, alongside your day-to-day responsibilities. 

Application Process
Our stages of Application look like this:

• You’ll be asked to complete an online application form, which should take around 15-30 minutes to complete.
• If your application is successful, you'll be contacted by the apprenticeship provider BPP to discuss your application.
• This will then go to the Emerging Talent Team, who will review your application and confirm if you have been selected for our next stage within a 2-week period.
• The next stage will be a short telephone interview, to check your suitability for the role. The Emerging Talent Team will ask you competency-based questions based on the requirements of the role.
• Should you be successful, you will be invited to an on-site interview process, which a member of our dedicated Emerging Talent Team will support you with.
